Chris Young vs. Franklin Morales.

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

We did it.

We survived the long winter, the "Miller vs. Franklin" debate that wasn't really a debate, the rotation battles, the split-squad days, the meaningless games that gave us meaningless glimmers of hope for what might lie ahead in the next six months. Wave goodbye to Robinson Cano's 1.0002 OPS and Brad Miller's shimmering slash line of .417/.478/.850, to late-inning rallies by the B-squad and Dustin Ackley batting clean-up. For what it's worth (very little, if anything), the Mariners are poised to finish second in the Cactus League if they can pull off a final win today.

Chris Young will be making his first and only preseason appearance for the M's, giving them a little taste of his skills before the regular season kicks off on Monday. He pitched 10 1/3 innings for the Nationals this spring, allowing two home runs, four walks, and nine strikeouts to 42 batters.
