3/22/14: Open game thread

Today is the last split-squad game of the year. No longer will we be subject to lineups that feature Willie Bloomquist subbing in for Robinson Cano or Nick Franklin as the starting shortstop*. Actually, it's still spring training, so who are we kidding? Dustin Ackley could very well pencil in as the DH tomorrow.

In other news, Taijuan Walker and Stephen Pryor are slated for a Triple-A game in Peoria today. It will be the first time all spring that they've taken the mound for a game, though neither right-hander figures to contribute on a major-league level anytime soon. Among those competing for a spot on the Mariners' staff are Erasmo Ramirez, Randy Wolf, and the two starters of today's split-squad contests.

*That was mean, and I'm sorry.

• There won't be any Seattle feeds, radio or otherwise, available for the Rockies game. You can catch it on ROOT TV or through the Rockies' KOA station.
• Ryan Divish reports that Corey Hart will not be gracing either lineup this afternoon. While Brandon Maurer's rehab is progressing nicely, he is not expected to re-join the club by Opening Day.
