Scott Baker vs. C.J. Wilson

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Which one of these names doesn't fit with the others? Jack Reinheimer joins the starting lineup today, hitting 2nd for some inexplicable reason. Reinheimer was taken in the 5th round of the 2013 draft, played mostly shortstop for Everett, hitting for contact and patience but no power. He's never played third base professionally, but he'll man it today. It's fun to put yourself in the mind of a player, and today Reinheimer gets to wear a Mariners uniform in a televised game and play with a lineup that's really not that different than one the Mariners might trot out regularly this year. If you're a sucker for narratives and cool stories, be rooting for him today. This game means a lot more to him than it does anybody else in that lineup.

Edit: And just like that, Reinheimer has been scratched for Chris Taylor. Welcome to the bigs, kid. Rough.

It's Scott Baker on the hill again, going against C.J. Wilson. We'll see how deep they let Baker go today.
