Lookout Landing spring training viewing party, March 18th at Gastropod

Come eat great food, drink equally great beer, and meet your LL brethren.

Christof Koepsel

It's time to put some faces to names. Cody, also known as sea-townie and proprietor of Epic Ales, has been gracious enough to open up his awesome brewpub Gastropod in SoDo for a viewing party on Tuesday, March 18th. The M's are facing their bitter rival San Diego Padres at 7:05, and the game will be televised. I'll be there, and I assume a couple of the other writers will be as well.

After some back and forth, we decided this was the most flexible day because it allows everyone to attend, including minors. Cody has an upstairs space where all ages are welcome, and those of us over 21 will be able to consume plenty of Cody's awesome beer selection.

I realize that a Tuesday night isn't ideal for some of you who don't live in the greater Seattle area, but we're planning on having another get-together centered around a Mariners game over a summer weekend on a date TBD if you can't make this one.

We gauged interest with a Fanpost several weeks ago, so those of you who already said you were planning on attending, make sure to RSVP.

Here's the full list of details.

WHAT: Lookout Landing spring training viewing party

WHERE: Gastropod, 3201 1st Ave S, Seattle, WA

WHY: To watch meaningless baseball, make new friends, and eat awesome food and drink awesome beer

WHEN: Tuesday, March 18th at 7pm (Cody recommends arriving early if you plan to eat dinner). I will probably arrive around 5:30.

COST: Admission is free. Bring money if you plan on consuming food and drink, which are available at restaurant cost. Be aware that Gastropod has an adventurous, foodie-type menu, so don't expect a burger and fries. You are welcome to bring your own snacks to the upstairs space, potluck style.

HOW: Send an email to lookoutlanding2.0@gmail.com to request admission, and I will confirm as soon as I can. Please mention the following:

1. LL user name (if applicable)
2. Over 21/under 21
3. Do you plan on eating at Gastropod (I want to make sure Cody's kitchen is prepared)
4. Did you reply to the original Fanpost?

Can't wait to kick off the year and meet some of you guys. See you March 18th!
