James Paxton vs. Bruce Chen

Well, quite a lot of news today for the Mariners! While none of the news could be objectively called good news, news is definitely news.

Item 1: I'm one of those people that like to start with the bad news. Danny Hultzen is going to see Dr. James Andrews about his horrible shoulder that we hate. Of course, we could grow to love his shoulder if it's just playing a small prank and is actually ok. One year of missed development is a small price to pay for a decent practical joke. The news is worse than you thought though! Yay! It could be his labrum. Yay!

Item 2: This is also not great news for many, but it's much better news than Item 1, so that's something. Chuck Armstrong confirms through Geoff Baker that Jack Zduriencik will be back as GM of the Mariners in 2014. So, there's that.

Item 3: Shit, I don't know, I feel like there should be a progression here so your good news is that James Paxton is starting tonight.

Notes on the lineup are that a bunch of Mariners are taking the field against a bunch of Royals. Some of these Mariners and Royals will not be Mariners and Royals soon. So they should enjoy this moment or just deal with it because it's almost over.
