After a brutal loss last night -- the 10th walk off, and umpteenth overall soul sucking defeat -- the M's look to get back on track with lefty Joe Saunders scaling the hill down in Oakland.

Some developing notes about the M's today. Ryan Divish reported earlier that GM Jack Zduriencik had been given a one-year extension. And now, Shannon Drayer cites sources saying the extension was done in the off-season. So, I guess this news doesn't represent quite the vote-of-confidence feel it did earlier.

We could see a new, more calm Eric Wedge when he returns to the dugout this Friday at Safeco Field.

Ichiro collected two hits for the Yankees today, which put him at 3,999 for his professional career and tied him with Lou Gehrig on the all-time MLB list. He's not in the lineup for the night cap of the Yanks doubleheader with Toronto, so we may have to wait for tomorrow to see his historic knock.

No Dustin Ackley in the lineup today because, I don't know, they're facing a right-hander and he's the hottest hitter on the club.
