Erasmo Ramirez vs Yu Darvish

Editor's note: Tonight at 5, Rick Randall will be doing a prospect chat on the site. Get your questions ready!

The Mariners take the field again today to face Yu Darvish and the Texas Rangers after last night's horrifying debacle of a loss. Just be thankful you don't have to be the one to step onto the baseball field in a Mariners uniform in front of 40,000 people. When it gets as embarrassing as last night was, there's no shame in sitting in your living room with a Mariners hat and a broken heart. You don't have to trot back out to the place of the accident the next day.

Platitudes aside, I'm pretty excited to see Yu Darvish pitch, even if it means the Mariners might just as well blow it again against one of the American league's most terrifying pitchers. Darvish is one of those once-in-a-lifetime guys, and unless the Mariners can replicate their early success against him from last season, it might be the lights-out performance that Felix should have had last night.

It's a lefty lineup against Darvish today, and Endy Chavez gets the start in right field. Apparently there were "like 20 scouts" at the game to watch Michael Morse go 0-4 yesterday, so unless someone has a developed a taste for cyanide, we may be back to the old outfield shuffle here in Seattle. Weeeeeeeeeeeee.
