Well, well, well...
OF Eric Thames DFA'd to make room for Gutierrez on 40-man roster.

It looks like Franklin Gutierrez is back in the lineup for tonight's game against the Athletics, and the Mariners have placed Michael Morse on the 15-day DL to make room in the clubhouse. Apparently he's feeling better after treatment for breaking everywhere having an "arthritis-like blood condition". Oh, Guti. Will it ever end?
I'm a little surprised this move didn't send Michael Saunders down to Tacoma, which is now down two outfielders with Guti back up and Thames gone for good. Then again, the non-waiver trade deadline is a little over a month away, and Guti hasn't played a game in a Mariners uniform since April 22nd. Make of that what you will.
In other news, John Jaso is still out of the A's lineup with what is being called a "palm abrasion." When asked about how he was feeling, he replied, "I'm not Wolverine," which is exactly what he would say if he actually was.
