Guti and Morse had decent nights by WPA, if only for their two home runs, but no one else did very well at all. Montero with his slap singles, Bay with his walk, and Furbush with his attempted killing spree were the only other Mariners to post positive win probabilities. Joe Saunders practically lost the game all by himself with a miserable performance that I'm sure won't influence any of our expectations for him. Because we're patient, rational, intelligent baseball fans who don't evaluate players based on small sample sizes.
Right?
