Seattle Mariners Trade Shawn Kelley

For probably nothing

Abraham
Abraham
Trenton Thunder

The break from Ryan Divish:

Almonte is a switch-hitting center fielder with a lot of speed, some decent idea of the strike zone in the lower minor leagues and pretty much no power. He'll be 24 in baseball years this 2013 season and last year was his first taste of Double-A ball.

Basically, he's Minor League detritus. Mike Curto adds:

A hell of a return for Shawn Kelley, right there.

Coincidentally, the Yankees also have a Zoilo Almonte the same age and from the same place as Abraham. But they were born 17 days apart. Is it the weirdest coincidence or are they related? If they're related, how, with those birth dates?
