Another strong, thought short, outing for Kevin Millwood against the Rangers. Millwood dominated the batted ball battle, keeping 10 of 14 balls on the ground. The slider was an effective swing-and-miss pitch tonight as four of the twelve swings against it missed. I don't feel comfortable with how comfortable Kevin Millwood is beginning to make me feel.

STOP GIVING UP HOME RUNS!
In case you're wondering why the line chart above shows three missed bats and yet the individual pitch breakdown below adds up to four it's because in the individual pitches I count foul tips as swings and misses, but for official recording purposes those are only considered a missed bat if they result in a strikeout (i.e. occur with two strikes).

I continue to think that Charlie Furbush warrants a chance at a bigger role than he's so far received. He's the Casper Wells of pitchers which is sadly appropriate.

Keep piping in that fastball, Brandon. That's surely been the problem, too few fastballs. I'm not sure I could inject more sarcasm into those previous sentences. But hey, at least you didn't walk anybody this time. Thank god for small miracles.
