It would be dreadfully insensitive to note that the M's are lucking out with Asdrubal Cabrera having been placed on the bereavement list, so I won't note that. What I will note, as Matthew noted, is that Justin Masterson has big ol' platoon splits, and the Mariners will be starting seven lefties against him. They're one Munenori Kawasaki shy of making it eight. Against righties, Masterson has a career K/BB of 2.8. Against lefties, it's 1.5. Of course, that shot all the way up to 2.5 last season but let me just have this, I need something to have.
