I'm not sure how this ends. They say Brett Tomko is pitching for the River Cats, but he's not showing up on the roster page and the transaction page has him listed as "temporarily inactive," so either Tomko comes back, Tommy Everidge gets a loss somehow, or the Rainiers blow the series. Sorry. I don't make the rules.

The Rainiers wound up taking Game 2 by a score of 8-5, with Dustin Ackley pulling a grand slam to right field on a pitch up and in. Justin Smoak went 2-3 with two walks a night after going 2-2 with four walks. Greg flipping Halman drew two walks and got hit by a pitch, although for the sake of consistency he used his two other at bats to strike out.

Blake Beavan scattered a bunch of hits, and Josh Lueke threw two shutout innings for the save. Though, at 2:59, the game didn't exactly fly along, it was a good 71 minutes faster than Wednesday's edition, which is nice. If Game 3 is 71 minutes faster than Game 2, then that'll be even more amazing. And then we'd have to wonder about the game to come next. Patterns!

Remember: the Rainiers are playing at Safeco tomorrow night, and also over the weekend if necessary. Buy tickets here, or by calling 253-752-7707. You won't wanna miss this lil son of a bitch.
