27,497 people showed up at Kauffman Stadium tonight for a ballgame and a fireworks show. Their team was shut out and the fireworks show was canceled. There aren't too many occasions in which teams think it appropriate to offer everyone a free ticket to another game, but if this isn't one of them, I don't know what to say. You know how sometimes high school girls like to test their boyfriends by intentionally making them really upset to try and find out how committed they are? I think the Royals have been doing that to their fan base for like 13 years.
