I don't want to drag my hockey emotion over onto a baseball website, but let me just say - I needed this. Forget the frustration over having to watch 2006 Felix all over again; the Mariners still won (and in exciting fashion, no less), and at four games over .500, they're gotten into uncharted territory. I don't expect great things from this ballclub, but they've given a lot of good, especially today when I needed it most. I knew the M's and I were friends for a reason.

So, yeah, this is another You Write The Recap!, since the Stanley Cup game and subsequent depression coma kept me away from MLB.tv for the better part of the evening. Don't worry about this becoming a long-term complication, though, as hockey'll be finished somewhere between this Wednesday and next Monday. I probably won't come out of it in the best of moods, but then, what better way to fully re-immerse yourself in the Mariners for the rest of the season? If anything, it's a head start.

(I know that paragraph was needlessly pessimistic, but bear with me for a little. These are trying times for Jeff's psyche.)
