5/19 Minor League Wrap-Up

Sorry I'm late.  I can't even say i've been drinking because I haven't.  I just had no internet access.  This will be brief.

VSL Tigers 5, VSL Mariners 2

Yorjans Chourio:  4 IP, 5 H, 2 ER (HR), 4 K
Jean Tome:  2.1 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, walk, 4 K
Mayckol Guaipe:  1.2 IP, 2 H, K, wild pitch
Cesar Del Rio:  2-3, solo HR, walk, K
Cesar Fuentes:  2-4, double, K

The Tigers blew it open in the 7th on Jean Tome with 3 runs.

High Desert 8, San Jose 4

Jose Escalona:  6 IP, 3 H, 2 walks, 3 K
Nicholas Allen:  2 IP, 4 H, 1 ER (HR)
Michael Wagner:  0.1 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, 2 walks
Brian Kappel:  0.2 IP, walk, K
Casey Craig:  4-4 (!), 2 run HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, walk (.331)
Michael Saunders:  2-5, R, 2 RBI, 2 K (.285)
Jesus Guzman:  1-5, K (.298)
Johan Limonta:  0-4, 2 K (.319)
Adam Moore:  0-2, R, 2 walks (.261)
Chris Colton:  1-4, double (.269)
Jeff Dominguez:  2-3, 2 R, RBI, walk (.241)
Edilio Colina:  2-4, double, R

The Mavs scored 2 in the 1st, 2 more in the 2nd, and piled on against the little Giants middle relief before San Jose managed their 1st run in the 8th and a token rally in the 9th.

A:  Lansing 7, Wisconsin 4

Tony Butler:  2 IP, 2 H, 4 ER, 6 walks (!), 2 K, wild pitch
Rollie Gibson:  2 IP, 4 H, 3 ER (HR), 3 K
Andrew Fiorenza:  demoted from Tacoma, 4 IP, 0 H, 3 K, hit batter.  Nice.
Andrew Barb:  1 IP
Carlos Triunfel:  2-5, triple, R, K (.290)
Greg Halman:  1-5, 2 R, RBI, 2 K (.195)
Carlos Peguero:  2-5, triple, R, RBI (.261)
Hargrove's kid:  2-4, RBI (.262)
Leury Bonilla:  0-4 (.268)
Kuo Hui Lo:  1-3, walk (.224)

Lansing unloaded on Tony Butler, who couldn't find the plate, and unloaded some more on Rollie Gibson, putting the game out of reach by the 4th inning.  The T-Rats got two runs in the 6th and one more in the 7th to sneak within 3, but never got any closer.

AA:  Huntsville 11, West Tenn 6

Andrew Baldwin:  3 IP, 7 H, (4 R) 3 ER (HR), 3 K
Juan Done:  2.2 IP, 6 H, 5 ER (HR), 3 walks
Mumba Rivera:  1.1 IP, 1 H, 4 K (!)
Craig James:  1 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 2 walks, 2 K, hit batter
Sebastien Boucher:  1-2, solo HR, 3 R, 2 walks, K (.191)
Erick Monzon:  2-3, double, 2 run HR, 3 RBI, walk (.196)
Prentice Redman:  0-3, RBI groundout, walk (.273)
Matt Tuiasosopo:  0-4, R, 2 K (.307)
Charlton Jimerson:  0-4, 2 K
Marshall Hubbard:  1-4, double, RBI, 2 K (.230)
Rene Rivera:  0-4, K (.198)

Back and forth game until the Huntsville Stars blew it open with 4 runs in the 4th to make it 8-3 (thanks, Juan Done!).  Huntsville responded to every DIAMOND JAXX rally with runs of their own to keep it too far out of reach.  Also, I don't think this Craig James the Closer thing is gonna work.

AAA:  Tucson 5, Tacoma 2

Jorge Campillo:  7.2 IP, 5 H, walk, 3 K
Ryan Rowland-Smith:  0.1 IP, 1 H, (3 R) 1 ER, walk, K
Sean Green:  1 IP, 1 H, (2 R) 1 ER, walk, wild pitch
Adam Jones:  2-3, double, triple, RBI, 2 walk (.302)
Jeremy Reed:  0-4, K (.276)
WLAD:  1-3, double, walk, K (.315)
Bryan LaHair:  1-3, walk, K (.232)
Rob Johnson:  1-4, R (.272)
Still no Jeff Clement.

All 5 Tucson runs came in a 9th inning meltdown.  Let's not discuss that.
