Once again, work is providing me with problems, and I was only able to get as far as a somewhat ironic recap of the VSL game before I realized that anything beyond box and lines scores wasn't gonna get done. The VSLM's struck for good in the 8th... though 'struck' would be a bit much. Larry Gonzalez got struck to lead off the inning... by a pitch. Roberto Velasquez pinch ran for him, and Terry Serrano grounded back to the mound, pitcher so-and-so taking the lead out at 2nd for one out. Huberto Espinoza pinch hit, and knocked a single to right. Serrano broke for home, and right fielder Renzo Tello gunned him down at the plate for two outs. Serrano clearly did not pray to Jobu before this inning.
Jorge Agudelo drew a walk. Rigoberto Rangel grounded to 3rd, but Jhonny Medrano (HA, you thought Peralta was the only Jhonny with that crappy name!)... but Medrano muffed it, allowing Espinoza to score the only run. Jose Jimenez, not THE Jose Jimenez who threw that no-hitter for St Louis a few years ago, came on and got his 2nd save in 3 days.
