This doesn't have anything to do with today's game, but from a Bob Sherwin piece on the official site:

On Sunday, several Mariners will swing pink bats for Mother's Day in support of breast cancer awareness. The players committed to using the special bats are Jose Lopez, Yuniesky Betancourt, Guillen, Jose Vidro, Jamie Burke and Willie Bloomquist. Players will also wear various pink equipment.

I think it might be a good time to issue a moratorium on good-natured ribbing, because pink bats do just as much damage to skulls as regular ones.

Anyway, I'm going to be away in Boston this weekend, so I won't be around for game threads or recaps. Ideally you'll just be able to read yesterday's two more times, only switching out the names of the starters. Yesterday was fun. I like yesterday. Here's to making Matt DeSalvo feel even more frustrated tonight than he did after the bullpen blew his win last week.
