Some will claim that the White Sox have just given up because all of a sudden they're not really playing for anything anymore. But then, the Mariners have been playing for nothing for years now, and apparently they still have something of a fighting spirit left in their hearts. In conclusion, Boone Logan sucks.

(What is this?)

That was easily one of the unlikeliest shutouts I've ever seen. In theory it helped keep the Mariners' pursuit of a .500 final record alive, but with three more games against Oakland early next week, it would be wise to adjust your expectations a little south. Like, say, "I'd be happy to finish with more than 74 wins." Gil Meche'll try to take us there tomorrow night, a 5:35pm PDT ballgame against a team that really shouldn't be called the "defending World Champions" anymore since their defense officially ended a couple days ago. So here's to the Chicago Lame Ducks, I guess.
