Lilly (12-12, 4.63)         Woods (4-2, 3.99)

It seems like every year we've heard about how Ted Lilly has spectacular stuff, and every year you overdraft him in fantasy leagues in anticipation of a statistical breakout, and every year he lets you down. Now 30 years old, all he has to show for himself as he enters free agency for the first time is a 4.66 career ERA and the kind of attitude that makes him think it's okay to beat the crap out of a manager after blowing a big lead. There's a school of Seattle fans out there who'd like to see the M's pony up the cash to land Lilly this winter, but if you didn't like Gil Meche before, you certainly aren't going to like his older, left-handed equivalent. Not at the kind of contract he's going to command, anyway. The front office either needs to focus on the upper tier or scrape the bottom of the barrel when it comes to solving the rotation issue for 2007, because everyone else is going to cost way too much in exchange for way too little.

LET'S GO MARINERS!
