Tacoma edged Sacramento, 3-2. Congratulations to Rainiers as they clinch the PCL Northern Division championship over Salt Lake. As for the actual game, Francisco Cruceta finally showed why he was a worthwhile waiver claim with six strong innings. Cruceta gave up a couple runs on six hits, but he didn't walk anyone and he struck out five. Both Abraham Nunez and Wiki Gonzalez went multi-hit while Hunter Brown, Shin-soo Choo andT.J. Bohn helped with doubles of their own. Number of times the Rainiers walked: 0. Number of strikeouts: 9. Maybe they were just giddy.

Francisco Cruceta: 6.2 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 5 K, 1 HR.
Shin-soo Choo: 1-4, 1 2B.
Abraham Nunez: 2-4, 1 RBI.
Wiki Gonzalez: 2-4, 1 3B, 1 RBI. Triple from FLC? Huh.

T.J. Bohn: 1-3, 1 2B, 2 K.
San Antonio stumbled against Corpus Christi, 3-0 (11). Wow, this game must have been boring. Yes, I'm one of those people who'd rather watch a slugfest than a pitchers duel, especially one between Juan Sandoval and Jason Hirsh. In any case, Sandoval was great, Rowland-Smith was great, Thomas was great and Cortez was great. And then came Nate Mateo and the golden dagger. Mateo came into the game in the tenth and had no trouble putting the Hooks down in order. However, in the eleventh, the story changed quite a bit:
Danny Fatheree out on a sacrifice bunt, pitcher Nathanel Mateo to first baseman Nathan Espy. Eric Riggs to 2nd.
Mark Saccomanno singles on a ground ball to left fielder Michael Nesbit. Eric Riggs to 3rd.
Hector Gimenez homers (12) on a line drive to right field. Eric Riggs scores. Mark Saccomanno scores.
San Antonio failed to score in the bottom half, but that was expected.
Notables:
Juan Sandoval: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K.
Bullpen before Mateo: 3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 3 K.
Gary Harris: 1-4.
Jesus Guzman: 1-4.
Nate Espy: 1-4.
Jesse Hoorelbeke: 0-5, 5 K.
Inland Empire got by Rancho Cucamonga, 6-3. Not a good start for Ryan Feierabend who lasted only 1.1 innings giving up three runs on five hits. Not to despair, the 66'er bullpen came to the rescue and allowed only seven more baserunners the entire night, none of whom scored. Hargrove's kid hit a jack and Carlos Arroyo drove in three to lead the offense.
Notables:
Ryan Feierabend: 1.1 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 0 K, 1 HR.
Little Garciaparra: 1-3.
Dean Zorn: 1-1, 1 2B.
Jeff Dominguez: 0-2, 2 BB.
Carlos Arroyo: 2-4, 1 2B, 3 RBI.
Wladimir Balentien: 2-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI.
Hargrove's Kid: 1-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI.
Wisconsin squeaked by Beloit, 3-2. Cibney Bello couldn't throw strikes (6 BB), but somehow managed to go the minimum without giving up the world. Luckily, Jon Lockwood was ready to come in and be awesome, just like he has the whole season as he went three innings giving up just a single hit while striking out six. Eric O'Flaherty came in the ninth to close it out and pick up his thirteenth save. Thomas Hubbard had the good night with the stick as he smacked two doubles and walked and Brandon Green also went multi-hit.
Notables:
Cibney Bello: 5.0 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 6 BB, 3 K.
Jon Lockwood: 3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K.
Jeff Clement: 1-4, 1 2B.
Thomas Hubbard: 2-3, 2 2B, 1 BB.
Brandon Green: 2-4, 1 RBI.
Josh Womack: 1-4, 1 3B, 1 RBI.
Everett beat Salem-Keizer, 5-3. Jeff Gilmore is either on or he's off and last night we got to see the former. Gilmore went seven extremely strong innings giving up five hits while walking one and fanning seven. Bryan Sabatella helped provide a lot of the offense as he went multi-hit including a triple and two RBI. Alex Gary and J.B. Tucker also doubled to help lead the Aquasox.
Notables:
Jeff Gilmore: 7.0 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K.
Luis Valbuena: 1-4, 1 BB.
Ron Prettyman: 1-4, 1 BB.
J.B Tucker: 1-3, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 RBI.
