A Look at the Minors: Pitchers

Like yesterday's look at hitters, today we take a peek at the top and bottom five pitchers in various categories. The complete spreadsheet, with ages and positions, is available here for your perusal.

To be eligible for the lists, a pitcher must have thrown at least 20 innings at or above Everett.

Note: "RA" is like ERA, only it includes unearned runs (which are often at least somewhat the fault of the pitcher, although it gets fuzzier with the bad defense prevalent in the minors). Also, cFIP is calculated with the following equation:

cFIP = (HR*13+(BB+HBP)*3-K*2)/IP

It's the equation for FIP, only without adding a league-specific factor (which are unavailable for the minors). It gives you an idea of how well a guy pitched independent of his defense, the lower the better.
