If You Enjoyed Summer 2004

...you'll probably enjoy Summer 2005:

Tacoma manager Dan Rohn confirmed that Campillo, Hernandez and Harris weren't at Cheney Stadium for Tacoma's game Monday against the Omaha Royals.

The corresponding roster moves are a bit trickier, as the Mariners are expected to send struggling pitcher Joel Piñeiro (3-7, 6.06 earned-run average) to the Rainiers and designate reliever Shigetoshi Hasegawa (1-2, 4.50) for assignment this week.

The Mariners are also expected to jettison two veteran position players - infielders Dave Hansen (.184) and Scott Spiezio (.065) - this week, replacing them with two rookies, Chris Snelling and infielder Greg Dobbs as the team continues its youthful makeover.

The Mariners are also expected to promote relief pitcher Masao Kida, who had 17 saves and a 3.48 ERA in 42 games with Tacoma.

Incidentally, every single call-up from Tacoma is probably going to be better than the veteran Major Leaguer they're replacing.

It's going to be a fun two months.
