Even I celebrate the occasional holiday, so you don't get any extended recap. Fortunately, the charts are always around to fill the void:
Biggest Contribution: Ryan Franklin, +25.8%
Biggest Suckfest: Randy Winn, -14.1%
Most Important Hit: Ibanez homer, +22.2%
Most Important Pitch: Buck pop out, +7.1%
Total Contribution by Pitcher(s): +25.8%
Total Contribution by Hitters: +19.8%
Ryan Franklin against the Royals: Two games, 1.02 ERA
Ryan Franklin against everyone else: 16 games, 5.12 ERA
There's just something about crappy, powerless lineups that bring out the best in the guy. Ironically, it's been during Franklin's two starts against Kansas City that the Mariners have actually supplied him with run support - they've scored 14 runs in those two games, and 35 in the other 15 (not counting his relief appearance). Gotta love them Royals.
These two teams face each other another five times before the season's over, but given how little trouble the Mariners have had with the Royals, there exists the distinct possibility of a season sweep. And hey, they're tossing a righty out there tomorrow in the person of DJ Carrasco, so we might get our first Snelling appearance of the season. Game time is 5:10pm PDT.
