Weaver and Drew Sign

New, comments

In two deadline deals, Scott Boras was able to land a lucrative contract for Stephen Drew (15th overall) and possibly Jered Weaver (12th overall), keeping them from re-entering the 2005 draft.

Stephen Drew signed a five year major league contract that will guarantee him $5.5 million, including a $4 million signing bonus (paid out over four years). The contract also includes $2 million in incentives.

Jered Weaver received a $4 million signing bonus, but further details of his contract have yet to be made available. It is believed that he signed a minor league contract.

Love the guy, or hate the guy, Scott Boras is one hell of an agent.
