Minor League Wrap-Up: 5/9/05

Thanks to dreary PNW weather, the Tacoma-Salt Lake game was rained out. It has been tentatively rescheduled as a doubleheader on Sunday, August 14. Tacoma is on road tomorrow as they kick off a four-game set with Round Rock. Rich Dorman will be squaring off against a forgotten Carlos Hernandez. Game time is 5:05pm PDT.

Springfield handled San Antonio, 7-5. Jon Huber wasn't sharp tonight as he went the minimun giving up six runs on seven hits. Yuniesky Betancourt, Nate Espy, Jon Nelson and Jesus Guzman all had multi-hit games to lead the Missions offense, but it was too little, too late.

Notables:

Jon Huber: 5.0 IP, 7 H, 6 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 HR.
Yuniesky Betancourt: 2-5, 1 2B.
T.J. Bohn: 1-5, 1 2B, 1 RBI.
Nate Espy: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 HR, 3 RBI.
Jon Nelson: 2-4.
Jesus Guzman: 2-4.
Ismael Castro: 1-4, 1 RBI.

Inland Empire had a much needed off day. They'll be back to work tomorrow in Lancaster taking on the JetHawks. Game time is 6:30pm PDT.

Dayton beat Wisconsin, 6-4. Mark Lowe continues to struggle finding the plate as he walked five in only three innings.Tthe T'Rat bullpen, despite their best efforts, slowly let the game slip away. In the end, the offense just couldn't get the job done as baserunners were at a bit of a premium toward the late innings.

Notables:

Mark Lowe: 3.0 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, 5 BB, 5 K.
Josh Womack: 1-5, 1 RBI.
Robert Johnson: 1-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI.
