Minor League Wrap-Up: 4/21/05

Tacoma went down in extra innings, losing 5-3 to Sacramento in 11. Andrew Lorraine was solid for five innings, but the Rainiers couldn't muster much offense outside of an Abraham Nunez homer and a Chris Snelling sac fly. Once-talented Jeff Heaverlo got tagged with the loss, allowing two runs before George Sherrill was summoned to clean up the mess. Notables:

Frisco rallied to beat San Antonio 5-4. Jared Abruzzo hit a three-run homer off Cesar Jimenez in the eighth that proved to be the game-winning hit. Ryan Rowland-Smith was all over the place for four innings as the starter. Three Missions had two-hit days. Notables:

Inland Empire fell to Lancaster, 6-4. Jason MacKintosh got slapped around in seven innings of work, and the 66ers couldn't come all the way back from an early 5-1 hole. Wlad Balentien continued his hot hitting with his sixth homer of the season, while two other 66ers had multihit days as well. Notables:

Wisconsin lost to Burlington, 4-2, completing the clean sweep of our affiliates. Despite having leadoff man Oswaldo Navarro reach base in all four of his plate appearances, the T'Rats (not to be confused with Ron Fairly's River Rats) couldn't push many runners across the plate. Notables:
