Jayson Stark on the Kevin Millwood discussions:
Reports that Seattle has offered a four-year contract to free-agent pitcher Kevin Millwood have been greatly exaggerated, according to an official of one club that has talked with the Mariners. The official said his understanding was that the Mariners hadn't offered four years and might not have made any formal offer to Millwood.
Further, apparently the Mariners are waiting around for Moyer at this point.
Seattle has made an offer, however, to free-agent starter Jamie Moyer. And a decision is now in Moyer's hands, according to a club that has interest in Moyer. For the second straight contract, Moyer is handling his own negotiations, without an agent.
Aren't the Winter Meetings fun?
