How Available Is Ichiro?

Not at all, apparently:

The Yankees recently inquired about the availability of Ichiro Suzuki but were told by Mariners ownership they will not trade him.

While the Yankees previously were steadfast in their refusal to part with their dual desirables, Robinson Cano and Chien-Ming Wang, they viewed Ichiro as the perfect answer to their gaping centerfield hole.

I guess it's possible that they just don't want to trade Ichiro to the Yankees, or that they found the idea of exchanging him for Cano and Wang laughable (as it is), but I think it's most likely that the organization remains as committed to Ichiro as it's ever been, despite the whole Japanese article thing. Please, let this be the end of ridiculous trade rumors and proposals.
