With the baseball season now officially completed, it's time for three months of weightless rumors and speculation. To start, the Seattle PI this morning has an article about the unlikelihood of the M's picking up Guardado's option. The article hints that if the team does in fact decline his option for the second season in a row, Guardado will enter the free agent market, which means he will more than likely be playing elsewhere next season.
The PI also speculates that Jeff Pentland, former Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Royals batting coach, is the current favorite for the vacant hitting coach position.
