5/26 Safenway Field
I will be in town the weekend after next (=Memorial Day weekend) for my one and only Safeco experience of the season (=the game on Memorial Day itself). I was wondering if anyone else is going / is interested in going. I know that braving Red Sox nation is not everyone's idea of a good time, but unfortunately it's my only option . Since it will essentially be like going to an away game, we could use all the solidarity we can get. At any rate it'd be fun to hang out and drink in one of the common areas of the park. There is also the possibility of pre/post game drinking. A propos of this season, perhaps that means hanging out with the homeless people and drinking out of a paper bag.

(Sort of) Balentien update
Here's the link, though it's not much to look at:

The upshot is that the Rainiers manager told Mike Curto that Wlad's x-rays were "negative" (whatever that means) and that the doctors think he's got "a bad bruise." I still don't even know what happened to him in the game, so I can't say if this "news" is any good. Only seventy two words.

More reasons to like the Rays
Over at Deadspin they have a pretty good article on Devil Rays' fans. I can't verify whether all they say is true, but it's pretty funny nevertheless. My favorite is their pitcher with Pythonesque nickname. There's also a pretty funny reference to Baek-clone Jae Kuk Ryu.

Enjoy! I need like seventeen more words in order to post this post. Looks like this'll do it.

Go see Triunfel?
For those of you who live in Southern California: the High Desert Mavericks will be playing the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (I live in Claremont and RC is the closest CA League venue; I think RC is closest to LA as well) on April 7-9 (=week after next). Carlos Triunfel will supposedly be with the team at that time. I imagine he'll be promoted pretty quickly as the season gets underway, so this'll be the best chance to see him in the area. Anyone interested in going?
