That was my 21st birthday night

I had the game DVR-d as I went out with one of my good friends. I had liquor, then beer, then liqour, then beer -- because that's what the bartenders were giving us for free.

Well you all know what transpired.

Then, I came home and watched Richie Funk it up to win on my birthday..

Good solid night.

Had a friend who came in from Chicago to visit family. He wanted to go see a M's game with me before he left, and I thought what the hell. We were sitting midway up the third base line seats, and when the bottom of the ninth came around, we saw Richie was leading off.

So I sarcastically remarked that he was just going to end it here, launch it out of the stadium. We both had a good laugh until it happened.

That was a really awesome game.

I also went to Felix's first home start as a Mariner with him. Guess I should go with him more often, huh?

etowncoug flipped us all the bird after Richie doubled earlier in the game. And then, this. First walkoff funk blast, and we got to see it live.

Went to this one as well

I'd forgotten it was an LL night; I got free tickets from a friend, and therefore was closer to the field than I've ever been at safeco.

Walking back to the car, a group of twins fans started heckling us, and we pretty much shut them up by saying, "Nick Punto plays for your team."

There's just no come-back for that.

For Nick Punto (starting 3B!), it was 61.

OPS+, Cairo: 66
OPS+, Punto: 52

Willie Bloomquist's career LOW OPS+: 62.

It's sort of hard to fathom just how bad Nick Punto, starting corner defender, was last year.

Hell, even HoRam's ERA+ was 'only' 61, which should put the Punto, starting corner defender, figure in context.
Or this: Jeff Cirillo OPS+, 2003: 51. Nick Punto was as bad as Jeff Cirillo in 2003, only Punto got over 470 ABs (to Cirillo's 280).
