The question is...
Does this take care of the issue that is Red not having with Mr. Beltre's signature on it?

That picture, is awesome Jeff.
The coolest one is the last one since he's holding the bat up and smiling like a wacked out psychopath.

Same weird, psychotic smile.
Only difference is the hair. I'd be more scared of Red though.

I met Red!!
So exciting. I was sitting in the left field bleachers, and although I couldn't see him from across the field, he appeared on the Jumbotron at one point in the game. Inspired, I trekked across the concourse during an eighth inning pitching change to say hello to him.

When I saw his bat + the giant Beltre bobblehead, I was so impressed that all I could get out was something lame like "Hey Red! I'm from Lookout Landing!" It was quite the moment.

Another interesting thing at the game:
There were some obnoxious drunk White Sox fans a few rows behind me and my girlfriend. They were chanting a bunch of ridiculous taunts during the early innings, and at one point I had the satisfaction of shutting them up by yelling "Remember the 2000 ALDS?" at them. They only got worse the more they drank, though, and soon they began throwing peanuts at a nice family who sat in the row between the Sox fans and myself. They even spilt beer on one of them. The family left, to my surprise my girlfriend even started yelling things at the Chicago fans, and soon some ushers showed up to escort them out of the stadium.
I hope the family was somehow compensated. I felt really bad that they had to put up with something like that.

Yet another interesting thing at tonight's game:
Putz. Ibanez. Guillen. Fields' awful defense. The fact that it's 1995 all over again.

I have got to get to another game before the
season is over so I can meet him. I am jealous of all of you that have.

i've been to three games at safeco in my life...
(small sample size)

i never saw anything like that.  The Cincy fans were very polite.

At the second game however . . . i was in Right-feild and someone walking by behind the stands yelled "You suck, Griffey!"

but, it was probably a seattle fan.

that sucks, though.

Hey, Lopez! I know you're in there Lopez! LOPEZ!

i think FSN was in on it...
Dave Sims, during the game i assumed sarcastically asked "how much did that seat cost?"

The M's can have the Moose
Red is the official LL mascot.  He pretty much embodies everything about LL and then multiplies it to an infinite degree.  I'm pretty sure he's the only creature amazing enough to defeat Scrappy.
Horacio Ramirez is God's gift to whoever the Mariners happen to be playing.

I love the contrast between Red
and the rest of the fans in that Savage link picture.  Shows pretty much why he's the coolest cat in the building.

Call up the Mayor
It should be a city ordinance. Red does not have to pay for a drink anywhere in the SoDo/Belltown district during the baseball season. I suggest we start an awareness campaign so that no one gets a ticket.

Red is awesome
And so is Beltre. He's gonna get fined for this though. It's against MLB rules to sign memorabilia during a game.

Bud Selig is just enough of an asshole...
...to get on AB's ass for this, too.

Prove me wrong, Bud.

How would they prove
that Beltre signed the bat during the game, though? It isn't a stretch to think that the team has a stockpile of autographed balls and bats that they can provide to auctions, Make A Wish kids, team stores, or in this case, Red.

by Katal LM on Aug 19, 2007 11:41 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Kudos to Beltre..
I liked the way Red thrust out the bat as Beltre came around to score in the 6th. Very cool.
I wish this event were tonight. When is it? February. Then why are you wearing a tux? It's after 6 - what am I, a Farmer?

I hope
Red gets season tickets in the same place next year.
