AP photos are public domain
The copyright law is rather dicey but IMO I'd say that as long as he is not directly making money from the photos, i.e. calling them his own and selling them as his own or using them specifically to advertise content, he should be fine to use them on his blog.

I agree.
I'm debating between going home to watch the game, playing Grand Theft Auto, or skipping all of it and just going to the local watering hole for beers.

Maybe I'll listen to the game on the radio while I play GTA, or I'll go to the bar and play video golf, and watch the game on the big screen or something...

So what? That happens basically every day. Talk to me when he gets to the 6th or 7th.

Three inning of no hit ball isn't news, even if it probably means the Angels are winning right now.

Power Rankings
research and proof reading ... must be that old fashioned thing that people don't do anymore...

From the FSN Power rankings:
Detroit #1 - Detroit opens the second half by taking two of three on the road from the tough Mariners. The Red Sox have a (slightly) better record. However, the Tigers have the best run differential in the game, and they've played, to date, the toughest schedule in all of baseball. This is truly a great team. If they add some bullpen help at the deadline, then they're the odds-on favorite to win the World Series.

Seattle #6 - The M's drop two of three at home to the Tigers, but otherwise it's good news. To wit, they've locked up Ichiro long term, Adam Jones appears on the verge of a (belated) call-up, Felix Hernandez has logged three straight quality starts, and they're about to play 14 straight against losing teams.

July 12th - Sea 3 Det 2
July 13th - Det 6 Sea 3
July 14th - Sea 6 Det 4
July 15th - Det 11 Sea 7

Those pesky 4 games series just mess up Dayn Perry.

Jose Guillen
I haven't heard much other than Guillen saying he wants to stay with one team for more than a year.  Even Guillen wanting an extension was a tidbit Baker had to drag out of him since he really didn't bring it up at this point of the season as a distraction.

I'm just going to wait and see what happens.  Probably won't see anything substantial until late in the season.

by ThundaPC on Jul 18, 2007 6:27 PM PDT up reply actions

Tell yeah what Jose.
If you can make Ibanez "disappear" then by all means, I'm all for you staying here for a while. Because I like yeah, and your pretty good at your job(well the hitting part anyways).

Yankees winning, Red Sox losing
Hmmmm, what to root for more

A: Yankees miss playoffs

or

B: Yankees surpass Red Sox, win division, RS miss playoffs.

A gets us a postseason w/o the Yankees which is badly needed.

B has the virtue of the Red Sox suffering the worst collapse since at least the '95 Angels and to the Yanks no less, meaning the possible end of bandwagon Red Sox Nation.
