I think he just means
it is now 5-4 M's, so you assumption of doom, may NOT come true.  Come on cheer up man!  M's are gonna win, and the Sens are ok, they just need to hold serve at home, and they will be fine!
Go M's

Not trying to start anything
but which Anaheim team do you hate more right now Jeff?
How good are you at answering direct questions, on a scale of 1 to 10? I'd say I'm very good.

fuck this shit
Jeff Weaver is ours, and you can't have him

He threw exactly one curveball
for a called strike.  The rest in the dirt.  We suck.

We need to start considering
that Felix's high HR/FB rate is based on more than just bad luck.

Also, stop swinging at bad pitches, dumbasses.

If you look around the table and you can't tell who the sucker is, and then you see Bill Bavasi, it's him.

by Rollo Tomasi on May 30, 2007 10:18 PM PDT reply actions

Actually
I think that's always been the prevailing assumption. A lot of Felix's home runs are his own fault.

He seemed a bit rattled
by the fact that his shortstop is afraid of the ball.

Doesn't mean he should throw
hittable fastballs 3 separate times.

by Mariner John on May 30, 2007 11:04 PM PDT up reply actions

Of course not
It just strikes me as odd that his mistake pitches always leave the yard, whereas a guy like Washburn can make a career out of giving up deep fly balls.

Makes me wonder (again)
if a pitcher's velocity has any correlation to HR/FB.

by Matthew on May 31, 2007 12:28 PM PDT up reply actions

physics
would support that theory from a energy conservation standpoint

I can't knock Yuni
for getting out of the way of a rocket from Vlad, but if I do the same thing playing SS tonight in rec league softball, my teamates will laugh like crazy (even if the ball is smoked).

You at least get in front of it. Look at the hard liner that Beltre caught (in self defense) the other night.

I can
The Mariners didn't make him a millionaire so that he could be a pussy and throw critical games away.

Seriously
they're already paying like 5 other guys to do that job.

by Matthew on May 31, 2007 3:02 PM PDT up reply actions

True,
he gets paid millions to stay in front of a ball like that (plus he has team doctors), where as I PAID $40.00 for the chance to stand 60 feet away on rocky infields while people rocket softballs at me.

Does that make me bat-shit crazy?

Your life and Yuni's
have taken divergent paths.

Yeah, but I got to skip the whole
"escape Cuba on a raft" thing, so I'm okay with that.

yea
seriously where is it taught that you rally in the 9th by trying to homer with every swing even if the pitch is no where near the strike zone

Well
Losing this game was a possibility but I wasn't expecting it to be largly due to Felix's performance.

Woa....I missed a good Felix day to miss....
Who knew that moving furniture would turn out to be the funner activity....

So uh, 2007 Angels=2006 A's. I think I'm just about ready to accept that they're winning this division.

But hey, only 3.5 back of the Tigers in the wildcard!

It happens
Just the Angels are becoming annoying. For me, its not just the fact they are ahead of us in the division...even if they were in last place, they are annoying. From Willits to Cabrera's and Vlad's dominance over us...to the lucky, cheap hits, to the linedrives that are always hit at them.

That whole city has me annoyed.

by Slica on May 30, 2007 10:37 PM PDT reply actions

Agreed 1000%
I know they are 12 games over .500 but I really don't think the Angels are THAT good of a team. Vlad is amazing, their pitching is pretty solid but when I watch them I don't think, damn, now this is a division winner.
