Next LL Night - June 4th, anyone?

June 4th is:

  1. a Monday night game against the Orioles
  2. a BECU $10-in-view-reserved night
  3. Felix's next home start, assuming no scheduling snafus
(I'm using the sortable schedule, his next start is tomorrow, then 5/30 in Anaheim, then 6/4 in Seattle)

So, let's get a gang together again like last time, buy some cheap seats in a section nobody cares about, and have a grand old time cheering for King Felix, because it's much more fun to watch a game together in person than online!

EDIT: Let's try for Section 340, Row 15 this time -- it's on the third base side, closer to the real life Lookout Landing.

(if you are going to another game in the homestand and want to try to see who else is going, feel free to try to piggyback on some of these tangents, though)

Only games I can really go to are Tuesday-Thursday.

I feel up for it
I'd probably have to leave early so I can go clean a bowling alley, but unless I get employed by someone else and soon, I should be available for at least the pregame and first half there.

And good company is always worth $10.

Bowling?
I haven't been since my league ended a few weeks ago. Maybe I'll go this weekend.

Yes, I bowl.
I said it.

I average better than 200, too.

Is there a better day in the coming homestand?
I would alternately suggest Thursday May 31 or Tuesday June 5th, but this one had the cheap seats and the Felix, so I figured it'd be better.

There's a super-long homestand for the second half of June if this one doesn't work out, I suppose, though the next BECU day isn't until mid-July.

I could do the 31st
but I'll be in Hawaii June 2-8th so the 4th is a no go.

Speaking further into the future, what about one of the Reds games? Griffey back and all.

Re: Griffey's Return
I imagine seats for Griffey's return are gonna be at least marginally scarce, especially because it's a weekend set.

by tworsandtwols on May 24, 2007 5:36 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

hence me mentioning it now
for instance, I just searched for 10 tickets in the View reserve section behind home plate and you can get 10 tickets within one row of each other in sec. 329.

by Matthew on May 24, 2007 6:18 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

yeah, the thing about Griffey is that
we'd have to plan getting tickets in advance if we wanted to sit together, I think.  It's a fine idea -- do you want to organize it?  :)

by Deanna on May 24, 2007 6:25 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Already going
but I might steal away to hang out a little bit.

by tworsandtwols on May 24, 2007 6:43 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'm interested,
I just don't want to organize it :)

I actually don't have a plan to go to any of the Reds games yet because I wasn't sure whether I'd want to avoid them or not.  But with a group of LL people it might not be so bad.

by Deanna on May 25, 2007 1:08 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

oh, and as for the 31st
I could still go to the game, though I didn't have a plan offhand about it, it's in that category of "I will go to it if I have nothing better to do and the weather is nice" which is how I end up at a whole lot of games sometimes :)  Are you (or anyone else) going?

by Deanna on May 30, 2007 12:00 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Up in the air about it
I have an interview in the morning, but should be golden for a night game. Hadn't thought about it until just now, but I wouldn't mind going.

by Matthew on May 30, 2007 1:12 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I thought you had a job lined up already?
Yeah, I kind of forgot about it too, but was looking at the calendar trying to remember what the hell I'd been thinking of for the 31st.  We could actually plan to not get kicked out of seats this time!

by Deanna on May 30, 2007 1:48 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I do
I'm trying to find a better one. One that would let me stay in Seattle for instance.

Gaging interest
Are people going tomorrow night?

by jtopps on May 30, 2007 2:19 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah
I mean, I might go to the game tomorrow anyway for the hell of it since it's going to be like 80 degrees and beautiful out, but it'd be fun to hang out with some LL folks too, since I know some people couldn't make June 4th.

by Deanna on May 30, 2007 2:47 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'm probably going to go to the game tomorrow
but with a bunch of my friends with the college night thing and can't promise i'll swing by.

by Edgar for Pres on May 30, 2007 3:07 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'm down
Can't do Tuesdays or Thursdays....I have night classes then and I've already missed two of them, one for a concert and one for LL night.  It'll be done mid June though.  Then anything goes for me this summer.

by BrettJMiller on May 24, 2007 5:37 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Oh, sorry about that.
well, I think cheap seats Monday Felix etc should at least get a few people, so it's all good.  It's hard trying to find a time that works for everyone, really... either way, I think BECU nights and LL mix together nicely :)

I would love to come
but most weekdays will be hard for me to come down from B'ham

Oh! Oh!
I'll actually be in Seattle! Big huge possibility!

by anotherjeff on May 24, 2007 9:16 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I'll be at the game...
It is Felix Day after all. Dunno if I'll stay in my seats much though... I might have to make my way down to the beer garden ;-)

by TyranT on May 25, 2007 7:58 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

So third base side this time.
Should we all try to get tickets in 340?  It makes sense I think to go grab section 340, row 15 tickets I guess...we should get a roll call though.

by BrettJMiller on May 29, 2007 5:37 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

340 15 sounds like a great idea.
Let me bump this thread and edit that in.  Sorry, I've been sort of away from baseball for a few days.  I may even have some interesting things to tell people by Monday :)

by Deanna on May 30, 2007 12:56 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I can't make it
I have work early the next morning.

by Katal LM on May 30, 2007 7:52 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Next next night
Suggestion: Thursday June 21, 7:05 start.

Pros:
--vs Pirates (for Deanna plus how often do you ever get to see the Pirates play? and they're in second place!! just like us!!)
--Felix Day
--College Night** for View Reserved are $7 w/college ID

*Possible Cons: College Night, how does it work getting discounted tickets? Is it really complicated? If so, we could all just tickets elsewhere, the first two pros are good enough.

Also, again, who has interest in going to one of the Reds games and *hasnt bought tix already?

by Matthew on May 30, 2007 1:17 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Me and a few friends were planning on going
the 21st. If you guys end up having another LL night during that game, I'll have to drop by and say hi.

heh
I actually have tentative plans to go to the June 19th game (with a bunch of other CMU alumni who probably didn't even go to Pirates games when we lived in Pittsburgh) and the 20th (since it's on my ticket plan) but I didn't have anything in mind for going on the 21st, so I'd be up for a group from here... just, I'm not a college student :)

I don't know how getting tickets for College Night works.

And yeah, I've been too lazy to figure anything out for seeing the Reds since I'm not a Griffeymania sort.

by Deanna on May 30, 2007 1:46 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

How about for the next next next night June 22
Griffey's return to Seattle and I am coming over from spo town?

by InSpokane on May 30, 2007 1:59 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I don't think there's any way
that a large group of us could all find seats nearby each other for that night. I'll be surprised if it isn't sold out.

by Katal LM on May 30, 2007 2:09 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'll be there on the 23rd!

well
we could all meet some where pre game

by InSpokane on May 30, 2007 3:09 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'll be there that day too
It would be cool to try and meet up with anyone here who'll be there too.

I'm going to that game with my family, and not to talk bad about them, but there's only so much "Why don't they bring back Lou Piniella? Whatever happened to Boone?" that I can take.

by Katal LM on May 30, 2007 5:23 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'd be down for meeting before the game.
I'll be there with my wife and my friend (who just happens to be jimmimoose1).
