A Little Help Needed...
Okay, so I finally tried printing my Safeco Field Opening Day composite (70+ frames stiched together to make one massive picture). I actually had to shrink it down from the 100 megapixel image it initially was. Even still, it's over 3 feet wide, and if I did print it any bigger, I'd have to find a different place to get mat board and frames custom-made. Fortunately, though, I can frame the picture in this size.
I'm getting ready to place a frame order, but I'm really having a tough time deciding what color mat board I want to order with my frame for this print. Since it's pretty pricy to order 'em, I'm trying to make my decision before I order.
Here's where you can help.
Below are several variations. I'll make a poll out of this, to make this easier. Let me know which version(s) you like best.
Blue:

White:

Black:

Coffee:

Olive:

I'm in the minority
"Black" would have been my second choice.
Didn't particularly like white or olive at all.
Blue is okay, and I can see how a lot of people prefer it, but to me it puts too much blue in the whole thing. Just an opinion.

Blue...
The scaling might be affecting it,
but the blue border looks like it is magnifying the blue haze that seems omnipresent in the picture.
I kinda wish there was a dark, british racing green option.
It'd fit great with the stadium colors.

Blue
As an option not available in the vote how about teal/"northwest green"?

So, Blue, then...
Here are a few more:
Teal:

Green:

Now that I've built a preview for it, I'm slightly leaning towards Mariners Teal.

Okay, Order Placed...
Heh. I found a cross between the blue and the teal that should work perfectly.

Looks like the frame size barely squeaks under the maximum size before I get a surcharge for shipping an oversized package...
I'll figure out the pricing scheme and make un-framed and framed prints available soon. Once I've got everything ready (I like to actually order the frame and assemble everything to see how it looks beforehand), I'll add it to my store. I'm sure y'all know where my photog site is, right? If not, shoot me an e-mail (in my profile), and I'll send you the link.

To answer your questions...
My local Costco just added the ability to print 12x36 pictures, but it's not easy for them to do. I have to remind them how to do it every time.
I've talked to other photogs in the area, and they use Kinkos as well as Costco. But since Costco uses the same extremely expensive machines that a lot of other places do, I get nearly all of my printing done there, since I can arrange everything online and then pick it up either the same or the next day. I can do all the color profiling I want, too. It's really nice, and MUCH easier than when I was doing this in the color darkroom.

i didn't know costco would do that
About the only thing that upsets me about costco is they won't print my black and white film. Yes I know I'm a loser because I still use film :)

It's new.
They won't print your B/W film, really? The negatives? That seems odd. They should be able to scan them and print them. If they don't develop b/w, that wouldn't surprise me, but if you already have the negatives, I don't see why they can't print them for you. If you're shooting b/w film, you'll probably want to develop your negatives yourself anyway. I've been thinking about buying some chemicals for it, since I'd love to get back into using my 6x6 camera. But I don't have a scanner yet that can scan the negatives that big. That will be one of my next photog purchases...

the film not the negative

Ah.
Here's a decent primer to give you a taste of what it's like.
Costco should be able to print from the negatives. Kits/Ritz/Camera World (whatever it's called where you are), I'm sure, will be more likely to handle black and white processing. It's a little on the expensive side, probably, but you may not need to have prints made. A dedicated camera store may be able to just develop the negatives for you, but I'm not sure. It's been awhile since I've done any black & white film...
