"We lose."
by anotherjeff on Jul 7, 2006 5:46 PM PDT reply actions
"We Lose" Because:
- Everett is still on the team.
- Hargrove is still running it.
- Pineiro is handed the ball again.
Mark Lowe
That said, I'll be shocked if he pitches more than once a week while he's up. You know how it is.
LOL he logged his first career save last night
nevermind, sorry.
"We lose"
Bonderman v Piniero...
Valle says
Gagne done for the year, Film at 11
Guess I can finally drop him then
LOL
This is what Joel needs to continue to do tonight
Sure.
And a run scores. The first of about 6 tonight I'd say.
Community projection:
Actual line:

The isolated patience is right on, and the only difference in IsoSLG's is due to his triples, which came out of nowhere.

Pray this is his last start
maybe we will have a lowe sighting

Who do we want to start?
When do we want him?
NOW!
Angels beating Oakland...
Best Possible Outcome
That would do more to improve the rest of our season than any other single thing that could happen during the course of this game.
I really, really, really
Hey
Yep, Bonderman did give him the pitch he was
A ball that was in the dirt and inside.
The only difference is that he actually connected with one of those ugly swings this time.
I guess
I'd like to take this opportunity
You do have to wonder
Still...

Blogging can't be popular in Detroit
Everyone is out building cars.
Does anybody else think this Pilots throwback
I mean, the Pilots have absolutely nothing to do with the Mariners.
Let the Brewers do a Pilots throwback jersey thing.
For those with TV . . . .
Just as reported.
by Jeff Sullivan on Jul 7, 2006 7:41 PM PDT up reply actions
Everett gets a hit, Joel looking okay.
DAMN YOU, PUDGE
The outs are so quick
And here's another thing, the Pilots sucked
Their best player was Don Mincher, he of .246/.366/.454 line 25 homers, 78 RBI
Their best pitcher was Rob Locker, who put up a 166 ERA+. Their best starter was Fred Talbot who went 5-8 with a 87 ERA+.
Why would you want to remember that?
That was quick
Amphetamine?

That's deep in the eyes of Dave Niehaus, at least.
Heh, nice. I've seen it around for a week or so..

Yeah

Yeah...
I think we only have that Edgar RBI against the Yankees in the wild card series. Oh, and 116 wins that meant nothing. (Sigh)

Joel pitching into the 8th
Fuck this team. Fuck them right in their ear.
I can see the story after tonight's game...
Joel Pineiro worked seven masterful innings, striking out two, walking two, and giving up three earned runs. He got into trouble early, allowing a first inning run, but hits and runs were few and far between after that.
One of those came on Craig Monroe's mosterous homer to left field, into the upper deck. Pineiro wasn't fazed. "I let one bad one go by," Pineiro said. "I think I had my best stuff today, and if it's good enough to hold the Tigers to three, I feel I've really proven myself."
Manager Mike Hargrove agreed. "Joel ran into some problems early, but he's a gamer. He's got a never-say-die attitude and never gives up. He's a good guy to have on the roster."
The problem today was the offense. "I pitched good enough for the win, they just couldn't score for me," Pineiro said. "I did my job. It's time for them to start doing theirs." The Mariners were shut out for the 11th time this season, and they let another gem go to waste today. Seattle pitchers, especially those as talented as Joel Pineiro are all starting to feel the offense needs to come out and play. After all, the pitchers can only do so much. Even stars like Joel Pineiro.
Seattle General Manager and Vice President of Baseball Operations stated after the game that Pineiro will take over the #1 spot in the rotation following the All-Star Break.
Editor's Note:
Never mind. Forget the 8th. Nobody likes to read bad news.

Chances of Mariners making a dent on scoreboard?
12 baserunners in 7.2 innings.
Book closed on Pineiro.
Not sure what I like more
Sweeeeeeet.
Memo to Joel and Julio
Why'd we hire him again?

To be fair
7.0 - Pineiro
1.0 - Soriano
1.0 - Putz
Game Over.

If today doesn't earn Joel and Julio
John Lackey
That would make me feel a little better if we weren't so close to last place.
Damn. Thought YuBet had that.
Mark Lowe > Mateo
Cruceta > Joel
Rohn > Hargrove
Snelling > Bigotsaurus
Petagine playing > Petagine collecting dust on bench
just looked up Cru's line tonight
I didn't think Lowe could hit 96
Worst possible thing he could've done.
Grover will never play him again.

I'm sure you could replace that with "Joel Pineiro" and not be wrong.

Worst stat of the night:
I guess you could Argue Raul going 1 for 4 with 1 RBI took the honors. But it's not an argument worth having.
I guess some good news, if there is any
Hey
Here's to Pineiro in the rotation for at least 5 more turns! Yesss...
But, in all seriousness, is there any way they don't just pawn him off for some A-ball scrub at the deadline?
