(What is this?)

I'm not going to ruin what's been a terrific night by trying to write about another predictably awful game I didn't watch. That's not laziness, that's me looking out for my own best interests. Besides, a handy rule of thumb is that, if Deanna can't think of a recap, the game was unrecappable. Seriously, the only difference between this game against Oakland and all the previous ones is that this time the A's defense gave us a few runs. I can't remember the last time I was this thankful for a series to be over.

Giants in town tomorrow, with Noah Lowry opposing Felix at 7:05pm PDT. The rotation shake-up (Felix and Gil swapped places) removes the possibility of a Schmidt/Hernandez afternoon duel in two days, but that game was going to be blacked out on MLB.tv anyway, so at least this way I won't feel like I'm missing out on very much come Saturday.

BTW, what's up with Sherrill?
His left/right split is hugely dramatic this season so far and his walk rate is much much higher. He had never previously walked a left handed batter while fanning 29, this year, he's Ked 14, but walked 7 and is 20:14 on the year overall. This team could really use a LHP who can do well against RHB too.

Damn you Hargrove!
Now I have to watch Meche instead of Felix on Saturday.
I know! We can teach someone to hit against lefties by benching them every time we face them! -Mike Hargrove

Whee
Well, if I'd recapped yesterday's game, it would have been something to the effect of "I came out of my 2-3pm meeting to see the final out as the Mariners got swept.  Have I mentioned that I have a crush on Nick Swisher?  Oh, I have?  Well, then.  Did you know that the Mariners have been something like 80-200 when they play in Oakland over the last 30 years?"

But hey, I'm proud to be the Mason-Dixon line of "This game sucked so much it wasn't even worth talking about".

Heh
Oh, man, I thought I was kidding, but I wasn't that far off.  More like 69-137, but still.
