But, then again...
I'm a bit confused.  I thought I heard at lunch time that Santana and Rivera split it.  I would've been OK with that.

Bad listening skills, I guess...

Just like 2001
When Freddie should have won it over Clemens.

Crap
Now if Andruw Jones wins NL MVP I'm going to personally kick everyone's ass who voted for him.

Just goes to show
that the mainstream press still doesn't get it, and likely never will.  The revolution has begun, but it's nowhere near over.

Damn...
Millwood's really good, better than I originally thought. Put him in Safeco and see what kind of season he can put up. WTF is up with Lackey? I thought he was just a solid #3 in the Angels rotation.

-sigh-
I guess he might make the HOF after all, if he has a few more years like this and gets some more hardware.

Incidentally, this is completely off-track, but I have a question about FIP and xFIP- if you take an entire league's FIP and/or xFIP (say, the FIP and xFIP for the American League in 2005), does it end up coming out to about what league ERA is?

by eponymous coward on Nov 8, 2005 3:26 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Very close, yes.
I'm pretty sure that's what the "league correction factor" they mention is for (which, they say, is generally around 3.2).

Obviously
  • John Kruk get a vote, and conveniently forgot about the White Sox.
  • The amount of food you can eat between starts is a prime criteria.

And he probably would of voted for
Randy Johnson too had he gotted those 30 victories that him and Harold Renolds swore all season long that he would get.

They interviewed
Rob Neyer today and he was just disgusted with the choice of Colon. He said "the media is starting to understand that wins don't matter but its just taking a long time."
