Jones himself basically said he was gone. It seems like most GM's totally deny everything until they hold some sort of press conference or something.

I remember Tim Ruskell denying the D-Jack trade to the 49ers even when pretty much everyone (including ESPN) knew it was a done deal.

Wasn't it Baltimore...

that had the syphilis outbreak about ten years ago*? Syphilis should discourage this from going through, and I'm sure we can find someone with a syphilis file in MD.

I asked around Bethesda this morning if anyone knew where the Orioles were conducting the physical. No luck. It didn't help that most of the people I met didn't know that the Orioles were still playing pro ball.

Saw this over at Camden Chat. Probably just the regular denials till the FO decides when to annouce the deal, but I'll drink that tonic if it keeps my hopes for Jones staying in an M's uniform alive, if only through the euphoric haze of clinical denial.
