Felix Day, May 15th! Come to Safeco!
Here's the deal:
- Tuesday night you can get View Reserved upper deck seats for $10 instead of the normal $18
- EnglishMariner is in town and he claims that none of us Seattleites can understand his accent
- FELIX IS PITCHING AGAIN
Anyway, I propose that we somehow all get together for this game. I think what would probably make the most sense would be to just pick an area of View Reserved that we'll be sitting in -- somewhere that's unlikely to be all that crowded -- and have people buy $10 tickets and just come find us somewhere specific in the stands. That way even if people have tickets already, you could still come hang out for an inning or so too.
EDIT: GET TICKETS IN SECTION 320, ROW 15 OR SO. WE'LL FIND A WAY TO SIT TOGETHER ONE WAY OR THE OTHER, EVEN IF IT REQUIRES MOVING OVER A SECTION OR BACK A FEW ROWS.

Don't care where we sit...
Skipping class to go
I remember the A's game we saw late last year and liked those seats along the 1B side.
FELIX FELIX FELIX FELIX FELIX
Huh
EnglishMariner, yeah, I'll bring my camera, though I probably won't bring my zoom lenses or anything.
320, row 13
so that's good, I was going to suggest something like 320, row 15ish, plus or minus one section if it turns out to be crowded.
We could also make a sign or two to hold up to signify the group... like "TURBO LIFTERS" or "POWERED BY FUNK" or "BACK SPASMS"
okay, maybe not the last one, but you get the idea.
Don't forget that Angels are playing that night
And don't worry about your accent English Mariner, I lived 10 years in New York and 10 years in Seattle so my accent is FUBARed. Honestly only my GF can understand me nowadays but Felix! is the same in every language.
Hmmm I might be able to go to this....
My convo at work
Robert's Boss: Why?
Robert: Felix comes back from injury and I have to cheer him on!
Robert's Boss: Is Felix more important to you then your job?
Robert:.....You don't want me to answer that.
Hargrove + Chavez say
Stupid Felix
I'll come i think
damn it

My family gets half-season Club Seats
I traded in Tuesday's game before the season started. I will be going to Sunday's game with my mom however.
IMO, I think 3rd base side is better then 1st base side for Felix pitching. Right handed pitching you can see the pitcher's face and body more versus just the back.
Have fun to all those who will be there tuesday!

Damn it
which means
Alright, I'm going.
I think we should aim for more like row 15 or so
320, row 15
I'm stoked. I haven't ran into many people from LL before. I met Robert at a Felix signing, and I saw Gomez once Derek pointed him out at the Elliott Bay reading, but that's it. This will be nice.
I don't like to talk about that Felix signing
damn damn damn
320
Last night was just incredible - doubt anything but a King Felix day will be able to top it for me!
I'm getting mine on Tuesday
Bah, I can't seem to find any tickets in section
Is there any way to get specific tickets off their online site instead of the "best available"?
Nope.

Damnit.
I think I'm actually gonna go down to Ticketmaster tomorrow personally and try to get one. Because getting the right ticket online doesn't seem to be working.
Why not just print out a ticket for section 321?
You sure?
I usually sit in the 300 level
I dunno. I think you'd be okay getting a ticket to 321, but there's nothing wrong with playing it safe either.
I've bought center field bleacher tickets

they're usually pretty nice as long as you're in
and I'm pretty sure it works the same way in the upper deck. I mean, I move around seats up there all the time and never get stopped. I figure there's no way we'd all manage to get seats together if we're all buying separately anyway... as long as we don't cause too much trouble, we should be okay congregating wherever.
Alrighty then.
Should be fun.
So, Roll Call, then...
I mean, c'mon. It's Felix's return. It's almost like the return of Griffey in '95...
Heh.

I was waiting for this.
;-)
No, I just upped my points score quite a bit, which is an absolute must for us husband types.

Yay
Hmmmm.
I'll probably sling the whole shebang over my shoulder, as is usual (4 lenses + camera + backup film camera in a side pocket). With the weather being pretty nice and all, I'm thinking about doing another version of this shot (since that one only blows up so big, and I can only imagine having one in the size of my Safeco Panorama shot).
Besides. I can't go to a baseball game without my big camera. I just can't do it. Heh.

The 50mm wouldn't be great for group shots
So, the problem is, I simply can't take the shots I want to from the upper deck. I'm all about candid, expressive shots, and I can't zoom in enough to get players' faces from up there.
True.
Speaking of Goose -- you're coming from Aberdeen, right? I'm in Oly, and will be driving solo after work (although I'll probably leave by 4:15-ish). Maybe we could meet up in Oly and ride up together ( don't mind driving). Just an idea. My e-mail's on my profile.
Well, I might scoot down to the 100 level for an inning or two, since they let you stand there at least for a bit. I've gotten some pretty good shots there, even without having to shell out the $55 for those seats (although, yeah, I'm spoiled by sitting in those seats, so sitting up in the 'bleeds will be sorta tough, even w/my telephotos...)

Not worth it at night, for me
Of course...
That's one of my biggest beefs with the D50/D70 series -- not being able to meter with the manual focus lenses. Yeah, you can take some sample shots, look at the histogram, and get a general ballpark (and fix the exposure later, if you're shooting in RAW). But I like not having to worry about those sorts of things. That's the only thing that's holding me back, really, from buying a D70 as a second body. I'm holding out for the D200 or D2H (and the ability to program MF lenses into the camera database, to re-enable Matrix Metering)...

Damn.
But then I look outside where it's 80 degrees and I don't feel so bad.

It's pretty hot in Seattle too.
Hopefully I'll remember to bring sunscreen to the game so I don't burn up like a Felix fastball.
I just bought my ticket
I'm still debating whether to make a sign of some sort or not...
better yet
I like that idea.
But, then, well, that'd cost, like, a ton. And take a ton of time.
by PositivePaul on May 14, 2007 3:57 PM PDT up reply actions
I just bought my ticket in row 12
At the last LL meetup at Cheney, we all just bought bleacher seats and then sat up near the back. People do this a lot in the CF bleachers. No one minds usually.
i will be there as well
Feliz Felix!
I'm in
This might be a retarded idea
Name tags might be a decent idea
=)
Hmmm.
We're all adults (well, except CO, of course), so introductions should be in order. Matching usernames and faces is almost always fun.

I like the idea, but I'm not down to make one

I was going to say,
I look like this, and I'm even going to wear that exact shirt and hat today, though my hair is a bit shorter than it was two years ago when I took that photo and the blogosphere jokes on the back of the shirt are all way out of date now.
So we going to do this more
I with you
well, let's see if this one goes okay first
What time does BP start?
Right when the gates open, 2 hours before game
by BrettJMiller on May 15, 2007 2:05 AM PDT up reply actions
Techincally
Good luck with that
Ichiro usually gets done around 4:50
It seems like
I'm about 50-50.
So, I think I will go watch John Lackey tomorrow, because there's no such thing as a "good shot" of him :)
I decided to avoid doing my normal pregame routine today though, I didn't even bring my big camera. I'm just going to get to the park and go to section 320 and get food and go look for people, for a change.
Heh, I'm the only one not in that section
Damn
Got my ticket
I will be there with my Felix game jersey. If the weather stays warm maybe shorts as well(!) See you guys there!

Was thinking of heading to Red Mill Burger
Well
I actually haven't been to that Red Mill in ages (I used to live about a mile up Greenwood from it), now I mostly go to the one over on Dravus St since that's closer to me.
Lessee...
