Long Ball Lounge

Has anyone here tried the LBL?  It is being advertised for $50 a ticket for the 15th May Angels game and I wanted to know whether it was worth while going for it.

300 character factoid - my baseball team won 34-3 on Sunday in a mercy-rule shortened 5 inning game.  I went 3-5 with a walk, 3 R, 4 SB, 1 RBI and 1 K.

Is this actual BASE ball,
or is it slow pitch softball or something? I'm guessing it has to be baseball, since you had 4 SB's....

British baseball at its best.
There are some lop-sided results from time to time.  Our team had an ex-Chinese professional playing for us.  He hit his first pitch of the season over centre field for a HR.  He hadn't even taken BP beforehand and hadn't trained at all since last year.  The rest of the team is pretty good, and the team we played were pretty demoralised after conceeding 12 in the first inning.

If you guys want to check out my team...
Our website is below.  I am in the picture, fourth from right on bottom row, hand on [my] right knee.  Check out our league standing for proof of the massacre. ;)

Two names that stuck out
50  Gareth Brierley
24  Jack Chiang
-  Ben Davis
10  Ronan Dunne
11  Paul Fagan

You have to wonder about the former, and High Desert has to wonder about the latter....

Hey, think of it this way:
it is a league entirely devoid of Angels.

Not bad.

True.
I played for the Orioles once in Little League.

I played on the Royals
one year.   That was marginally better then than now, but still...

Cool!
Congrats on the big win.
I had no idea the UK league was so well organized.  Sure, it looks like there are issues with talent being dispersed...unevenly, but hey, organized baseball.
I'll definitely look into this next time I'm over there.
Is there a central organization that buys equipment, or is it done on an ad hoc basis, like with you coming over and buying a bunch of gear?

I have not sat there, but the view from that part of the stadium is not great, relatively speaking, and removed from the action.  You can sit closer to the field in the level below for $25.  Unless you think you will eat more than $25 in food (for a point of reference, hot dogs are about $5), it does not look like a very good deal.

There's even an English BB player in Paris
With a blog, and even though Baseball Desert doesn't produce runs like Manchester, it's still fun to read. And a friend of LL.
