You do understand that living in a fraternity is WAY cheaper then living in the dorms. A thousand bucks less a semester and that doesn't even include how much cheaper food is. Greek Life Organizations routinely have higher grades because they help each other and give incentives for good grades and take place in countless community service and campus activities. Don't let pop culture images and a few assholes leave you with a stereotypical view of fraternities

by Trenchtown2 on Apr 13, 2007 5:59 PM PDT up reply actions

true...
I had a few friends go into the frats at WSU, about 10 years ago. One guy dropped out because of the frat he was in. It took years to get his life in order again. Another friend of mine was able to start his own business with the hundreds of contacts he made.

The greek system works for some and doesn't work for others.

The Rangers activated Gagne
They say he's their closer.

So we might get to test his health tonight.  I see three possible outcomes should the Rangers enter the ninth with a small lead:

  1. Gagne's not healthy, and we win the game.
  2. Gagne's not healthy, but we can't hit, so they think he's healthy and they keep using him, thus hurting the team even more than a signel loss would.
  3. Gagne's healthy.
Those first two are pretty good outcomes for us.

Ichiro
What the hell? He'll come around and have a some hot streaks where we think he is superhuman, but seriously, has he ever sucked that much in such a small amount of time? Someone needs to remind him that he is in a contract year. If he wants to test the market, he'd better get his ass in gear. I guess he could just keep up this pace and get a 5 year contract from the M's for his veteran leadership.

I'd do that.

by PShwa on Apr 13, 2007 9:54 PM PDT reply actions

Nope
I don't see us getting any good prospects for Ichiro.

by dz on Apr 13, 2007 9:56 PM PDT up reply actions

by PShwa on Apr 13, 2007 10:04 PM PDT up reply actions

Disagree 100%
I guarantee that if the M's dealt him right now, they could fill three holes within the organization.

Problem is trusting Bavasi to identify those holes and then acquire the proper talent.

by Trent on Apr 13, 2007 10:01 PM PDT up reply actions

problem is
Ichiro wont get traded until the deadline.

If we get rid of him now we can get at least 3, four star players.

by PShwa on Apr 13, 2007 10:03 PM PDT up reply actions

Agree
on your second point, has Bavasi ever gotten anyone good in a trade.

by dz on Apr 13, 2007 10:03 PM PDT up reply actions

I still think that the Garcia deal
was fantastic at the time. It didn't pan out for the M's, but he really did get good value for Garcia. Same goes for Villone.

by Trent on Apr 13, 2007 10:05 PM PDT up reply actions

Heh. As I posted on SportSpot earlier...
If we're narrowing it down to what I'd think the M's could and should get for Ichiro, here's what I'm currently thinking:

Ichiro reunites with Lou in Chicago -- for Felix Pie, a pitching prospect and perhaps another player. Either Pie or Adam Jones slide over to RF (since there's no way Rauuuuuuuuul's being bumped out of LF to DH as he properly should be).

Another possibility: Ichiro stays on the west coast and goes to the Dodgers for James Loney, and one of their pitching prospects. I'd actually believe that of the potential trade destinations, LA is one of the most likely for Ichiro.

BUT, with Bavasi in charge, here's what I expect will happen. Bill will get names all confused and head to Baltimore and trade him for James Hoey (who'd be just coming off the DL with 'shoulder soreness') and Kevin Millar because with Vidro spontaneously combusting after joining Spinal Tap on their reunion tour, he'll still have this strange fixation for filling the DH role with veterans way past any prime they may have ever had. Or he'll deal with Bowden again, confusing Felix Pie for Felix Rodriguez, and grab Robert Fick because he just can't seem to figure out how to get the backup catcher situation resolved. That, and because, like me, he's thoroughly addicted to the Robert Fick Fanimutation

Iceberg, right ahead!

by PositivePaul on Apr 13, 2007 10:07 PM PDT up reply actions

LA
for Matt Kemp + Pitching?

by PShwa on Apr 13, 2007 10:12 PM PDT up reply actions

I think
Ichiro is doing bad in real life, cause hes doing horrendously in my MVP dynasty.

I already got Chris Young, its just a matter of time until he takes over in CF.

by PShwa on Apr 13, 2007 10:21 PM PDT up reply actions

LA just signed Pierre to play Center
How would that work out? They have a glut of corner prospects but no one who could play center hence Pierre. Trading for Ichiro doesn't really make sense for them.

by bluemax on Apr 13, 2007 10:29 PM PDT up reply actions

Ichiro's a RF
filling a need in Seattle

by Trent on Apr 13, 2007 10:54 PM PDT up reply actions

Ichiro's so done in Seattle
but that's cool. Because out of Ichiro's ashes rose a new organizational hero/front man, El Cartuelta.

Speaking of idiots, how the fuck do you make a torrent. I'm trying to get the Felix game up but its not working, can anybody help me out here. I have use torrents thousands of times but this is the first time I have ever tried to make one and its making me lose my mind.

I use bitcomet
and I can make the torrent just fine I think, but I can't make it seed whenever I upload it. What am I missing?
"I had never seen a baseball shoved up an entire city's ass until yesterday. That was fun, Felix"

by Robert on Apr 14, 2007 12:22 AM PDT up reply actions

hmmmm
so you create the torrent and it shows up in the client but won't seed? the problem with a torrent is that it would take a really long time to download a 2 gig file while only one person is seeding and there is 10 other people trying to d/l it as well.

another possible alternative could be to put it on megaupload.com. the max file size is 500 mb so you would have to break it up into several pieces.

by seahawk24 on Apr 14, 2007 12:48 AM PDT up reply actions

Alright I will try that
But if I can't get that to work I might as well mail the DVD to Jeff in addition to somebody who isn't a complete retard when it comes to uploading torrents.
