9/26: Open Game Thread

Kendall C Ballgame "CF" Kielty LF Lopez 2B Bradley RF Beltre 3B Thomas DH Ibanez LF Payton CF Sexson 1B Chavez 3B Broussard "DH" Swisher 1B Betancourt SS Ellis 2B Snelling RF Scutaro SS Doom C ---------- ----------
Harden (3-0, 3.79) Woods (6-3, 3.88)
About a week ago I downplayed the quality of the A's playoff starting rotation to a friend of mine, with one of the main points being that nobody knew how Rich Harden was going to do when he came off the DL. Then he struck out seven of the 12 Indians he faced in three innings. The good news is that he'll be limited to roughly 75 pitches tonight, meaning the M's should be able to get to Oakland's bullpen if they keep things tied through twelve.
LET'S GO MARINERS!

LOL
When he was getting mobed Willie was doing his best Ray Lewis impression, seriously i've watched it 5 times and its funny every time.
Rene and Willie did so well
This could only be made better if Joel started.
Willie Ballgame leading off
So not only did last nights hit secure him as a Mariner for life, it also earns him the right to be our leadoff hitter.
This is the lineup?
oh and props on naming Rivera "Doom." I think that fits.

Raul's Ibanez WARP1
Richie sure is making up for the lack of walks
Seems like when he hasn't homered he's walked.
So Adrian Beltre has 15 homers in the 2nd half
Sure it is.
I think there's just no projecting him.

Campillo have a shot at next season's rotation
What makes you so sure, Jeff? Bavasi, I don't think, is ready to give up on an investment just yet. He pushed him quite quickly from the AZL league to Tacoma for his rehab assignments. It doesn't seem to me that Bill is gonna cut him loose yet.
by TIF @ Lookout Landing on Sep 26, 2006 9:10 PM PDT reply actions
Keep in mind
Campillo just isn't a special pitcher. He'll probably hang around Tacoma next year, but I don't think anyone in the organization realistically thinks he has a shot at starting for the Mariners.
by Jeff Sullivan on Sep 26, 2006 9:16 PM PDT up reply actions
My debate isn't...
by TIF @ Lookout Landing on Sep 26, 2006 9:17 PM PDT up reply actions

New Fantasy baseball strategy for 2007
- Draft as many Oakland players as possible.
- Wait until the M's/A's series.
- Play all your players.
- You win!
At least
Hey I just realized
Guys, we need to prepare ourselves;
Look, at some point the Mariners are going to have to accept one of the dozens of trade offers we will get for the Ignitor. I mean, seriously, he got 5 hits in a game! He wins games for us all the time. We just can't keep turning down trade proposals. I know it will be hard. I think it will be especailly hard on Goose. Bill Krueger will probably just quit his job. Rizzs will have to be kept away from bridges. It will be hard on all of us, but damn it - we have to accept the inevitable.
