Huston Street, Ryan Howard named Rookies of the Year
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-rookiesoftheyear&prov=ap&type=lgns
As Jeff stated a while back, Street was a lock, cause rookie pitchers who step right in and close games for a playoff contender tend to get high marks. Deanna must be happy about Howard, as the NL rookie race was up in the air after Clint Barmes went YIKES AND AWAY on his staircase. He still can't hit lefties, though.

I'm just glad
I think Howard was the right choice, too. The voters actually got this one correct.

Howard...
A platoon of Bucky and Howard would be quite fun, since Bucky prefers lefties and Howard prefers righties -- and both would be cheap. But, since Bucky's basically gone, and Howard ain't comin', there are other options to consider...

Yeah
I was calling the guy Cerrano for a good reason, but he really mashes if you put a righty pitcher out there against him. It was good to see. I didn't really expect him to take home the ROY... the good part is this means there's no way in hell the Phillies will trade him!

With his Bobby "Jobu" Abreu bobblehead
I couldn't help but imagine him going up to the plate for that at-bat muttering, "I asked you, Jobu, to come help me hit the lefties. I give you beer. I give you cheesesteaks. But you no come. Fuck you, Jobu. I do it myself."

Or, um...
and
A.J. Burnett.
Er. Wait. The CYA is given to the "WINNINGEST" pitcher, not the "WHINY-EST."
My bad.
