Happy Monday everybody! The Mariners have a chance to continue running away with the vaunted Cactus Cup™. What sweeter way to do it than against their hated Natural Rivals™, the Padres? In all seriousness, this could be the team’s last look before the regular season at Yovani Gallardo, which by itself makes this game worth watching.

As you can see, Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz are still sidelined with head colds. The good news is that they were back at practice this morning, and Scott Servais believes that they should be ready to play tomorrow. Jarrod Dyson is still not starting, but he will be playing today in Minor League games.
Jarrod Dyson will get 10-12 at-bats in Minor League games today to stay sharp, but running limited as he tests sore hamstring.

Mike Zunino will be the designated hitter today. The first five in the Mariners lineup are all likely starters this season. Matt Magill of the Padres has never been anything resembling good in the majors, so hopefully the team can tee off a little bit.
Also, good gracious the Padres are terrible.
