(Almost) Friday Morning Music

I know it isn't morning yet on the West Coast but I have a lot to do tomorrow and I really wanted to bring these back.

The discussion is music and specific songs of bands that had recently experienced drastic change at the time of recording. Change might be addition or subtraction of a band member, significant change of genre, gain in main stream attention, etc. Feel free to be creative in this area.

A few examples:

The Doors - I'm Horny, I'm Stoned

This is a Doors song a year after Jim Morrison died. All of the members of the Doors were excellent musicians, but there could only ever be one Lizard King. "Life an't so easy when you're on your own."

The Velvet Underground - Oh! Sweet Nuthin'

Loaded was the first VU album without J.J. Cale, featuring instead Lou Reed's "brother" Doug Yule (Reed also left the band 3 month's before it's release). Someone with technical understanding could tell us more about the differences between Cale and Yule musically, for me it is the history that shapes up interestingly. Cale left the band to pursue a more experimental solo career and Yule stepped in to instigate commercial success. This album is generally held as the Velvet Underground's most accessible.

Yule takes lead vocals in this song.
