It's getaway day in Seattle as Roenis Elias and the M's look to sneak out one more win before visiting the capital of doom that is Cleveland, Ohio.
Seriously, I'm not one for reading into coincidences, but it's always Cleveland. Cleveland that stole win number 117. Cleveland broke Tom Wilhelmsen and ended 2013 in May. And now the Mariners are going to spend every day until the trade deadline there, inches away from letting the season slip through their fingers with an untimely losing streak. Happy thoughts!
But yes, before that they have a baseball game to play today. If you look at the lineup you will notice that Dustin Ackley is hitting second, which makes sense because Dustin Ackley is hitting right now, and also because Lloyd said he was going to move him after last night's game. He also said that he prefaced this move by making sure Ackley was ready for it, which probably felt like talking to a blank wall. But we'll see how it goes today. Chris Taylor gets the start at short, and Corey Hart is running back out into right again to test those knees and luck and reason and oh boy, let's just sit back and watch it happen this time.
Go M's.
