RH Hitting Help, Available Now!

Despair not, Mariners faithful. I bring tidings of help for the beleaguered Ms offense!

Some bullet points facts are:

He's a RH power bat who also hits for average.

That the player is bat-first, young, and inexpensive.

That he could be slotted into the lineup in short order, and cost nothing in terms of prospects.

That on the season, he has an OPS over .900 with his current team.

That he was formerly one of the top prospects in baseball, a can't-miss hitter.

That over his last 18 games, he has 6 home runs and an OPS around 1.300.

At age 24, the Ms could still see significant improvement from him.

With Corey Hart a shell of a hitter, and DH ABs having been taken by Bloomquist and Romero, there's really no reason that this player shouldn't be brought aboard and immediately given a platoon job at DH with Morrison, at the least.

So join me in, hopefully, welcoming a talented hitter into the Mariner linuep - Jesus Montero!

I know. It hurts. But Montero has been terrific at Tacoma for a while now. The team is letting Hart, Romero, Bloomquist and Chavez take ABs. He can't really be any worse, and he could be significantly better. What have they got to lose?
